Ranveer Singh's 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ clocks shorter runtime than ‘Dhurandhar’; CBFC certification details revealed - Reports
Ranveer Singh’s blockbuster ‘Dhurandhar’ continues its phenomenal box-office run even 75 days after release, while excitement builds for its sequel ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, one of March 2026’s most awaited films. The teaser has already heightened buzz, and now certification details from the CBFC confirm that the sequel has secured a U/A 16+ rating with a slightly shorter duration than the first instalment.
According to the Central Board of Film Certification website, ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ has received approval on February 9, 2026. The sequel runs for 208 minutes (3 hours 28 minutes). By comparison, ‘Dhurandhar’ had a runtime of 3 hours 34 minutes, making the new chapter six minutes shorter, though still an epic-length spectacle.
According to IANS, unconfirmed reports suggest the story resumes with Hamza Ali Mazhari (Ranveer Singh), an Indian undercover operative who has penetrated Pakistan’s criminal underbelly. After eliminating gangster Rehman Dakait and consolidating power, he reportedly confronts his toughest opponent yet, Major Iqbal, an ISI strategist feared as Bade Sahab. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on March 19 and will clash at the box office with ‘Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups’.
The first part of ‘Dhurandhar’ also starred R. Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, and Arjun Rampal. Designed as the first chapter of a two-part saga, it revolved around a high-risk counter-terror mission. The narrative followed an Indian intelligence officer infiltrating Karachi’s crime syndicates and political circles to dismantle a network planning attacks on India, drawing loose inspiration from several real-world South Asian events.
Despite the mounting anticipation, ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ has faced scrutiny over alleged safety violations during filming. Reports indicate that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation recommended blacklisting director Aditya Dhar’s production banner, B62 Studios, citing repeated breaches of civic norms. AICWA also issued a letter condemning the production team over these concerns.Get the latest entertainment updates from the Times of India, along with the latest Hindi movies, upcoming Hindi movies in 2026 , and Telugu movies.”
