Ranveer Singh on proposing Deepika Padukone and her mother's reaction: “I put my ear to the door”

Even after the perfect proposal, Ranveer had one worry: Deepika’s parents. He was nervous about how they would take the news. On the show, he explained, “Then, suddenly, absolutely out of nowhere, she was like, 'you know he proposed marriage to me and I said yes.' I got into their room in their Bangalore home, and I put my ear to the door, and Amma and Deepika are having it out. She's saying, 'Who is this guy? He proposed marriage, and you said yes also?' And I was like, 'Please God help me'. It took a lot of work on my part to place myself in Amma's heart, and now I think I'm one of her favourite people in the whole world.”

Ranveer is gearing up for his next big film, Aditya Dhar’s action-drama ‘Dhurandhar’. The first teaser dropped on his 40th birthday, making the moment even more special for fans.
