Ranveer has openly professed his love for Deepika and their offscreen chemistry is infectious! It was love at first sight for him when he saw her at an awards function in Macau in 2012. The actor revealed that he can never forget that first sight when he almost went ‘flat’ being charmed by her beauty.

Romancing on the sets
Deepika and Ranveer’s love story began on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s movie ‘Goliyon Ki Rasleela... Ram Leela’. While their on-screen chemistry was palpable, off the camera, too, the couple seemed to have eyes only for each other. Speaking about their romance, DP had told Filmfare, “When Ranveer and I met in 2012, I told him, ‘I realise there’s a connection between us'.”

A secret engagement
Ranveer and Deepika were in a relationship for six long years and had a secret engagement too. In a chat with Filmfare in 2018, Deepika had revealed, “When I look back, six months into it I was pretty much emotionally invested in us. After that, it was when do we get married? I was never unsure about him. Of course, in a six-year-long relationship, you go through your ups and downs but we never broke up. There was no major fight or saying let’s take time off and figure this out. We’ve fought; we’ve had our ups and downs. But we stuck through all of that. We got engaged four years ago... No one knows this. We got engaged four years ago. Only his parents and my parents and our respective sisters knew about it”.

A big fat dreamy wedding
Set against the stunning backdrop of Lake Como in Italy, Deepika and Ranveer's romance culminated into a dreamy wedding. On November 14 and 15, the couple tied the nuptial knot according to Konkani (South Indian) and Sindhi traditions. Only close friends and family attended the lavish wedding. Upon their return to India, Ranveer and Deepika hosted grand receptions in Bengaluru and Mumbai.
