Rani Mukerji all set to reprise her role as a tough cop in Mardaani 3: Reports
After garnering rave reviews for her role in Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway, actor Rani Mukerji is all set to reprise her role as the tough cop in Mardaani 3, written and directed by Gopi Puthran.
According to a leading publication source, during the making of Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway, Rani was in several talks with Gopi Puthran, over developing the story of Mardaani 3. Gopi, at that point was busy with the shooting of Mandala Murders, a web series starring Vaani Kapoor in the lead role. However, now that the series has wrapped up, Rani and Gopi feel that this is the right time to shape up Mardaani 3.
Earlier, there was a buzz that Rani has signed on the dotted line for another film, which will launch Vaibhavi Merchant as a director in Bollywood. According to a news portal, this small budget movie will be backed by Rani’s husband, Aditya Chopra’s production house and will be directed by Vaibhavi. Rani and actor-choreographer Vaibhavi have been friends since decades and have collaborated over several projects in the past.
Rani had earlier said that she has been reading a lot of scripts post Mrs Chatterjee VS Norway, but is yet to lock in anything.
