Bidita Bag. (TOI Photo)How did it feel to work alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone for a soft drink commercial?
Ranbir is down-to-earth and easy to work with. During the shoot, he accidentally nudged me and went on saying sorry for the next three days. And Deepika, well I didnt speak to her. While people say I look like her, she has already reached stardom.

Unfortunately, Im yet to achieve anything!
How was the experience of sharing screenspace with AR Rahman?
Great! Being able to share screenspace with a person of his stature was like a dream come true. I got selected from 300 applicants who came for the audition. I essay a goodlooking coy girl in the commercial and I ask Rahmanji to play a party mix and he obliges. Not many know that I have a flair for singing and my parents wanted me to be a singer. Destiny, I suppose, had something else written for me (laughs)!
Did you tell him that?
Oh! yes. He told me to do the playback of my own song when I become a heroine.
So, will Bollywood be the next stopover for you?
I want to continue with acting and modelling. But Tollywood directors thought that I didnt quite fit the bill. I have joined dancing classes in Mumbai and am working out and doing yoga. I shall enroll myself in an acting school soon. I even went for an audition and have been shortlisted for a role by Yashraj Films. Im keeping my fingers crossed. I am 20 and shall try my luck on the silver screen for the next two-three years. If things dont work out, Ill consider the small screen for a living in Mumbai.

Would you be open to sporting a bikini and doing item numbers?
If the role requires me to wear a bikini, I shall go ahead with it. I dont think I would like to start my career with an item number.
Kolkata is abuzz with talks of how photographer Prabuddha Dasgupta praised you...
I must say that it has boosted my confidence. It was when I did a print ad for a tea company with him that he said I have an extremely photogenic face.
But had it not been for Sabyasachi Mukherjee, would you have hogged this limelight?
Sabyasachi is my godfather. He makes sure that I am part of all his projects. He has definitely helped in shaping my career.
Does Kolkata now treat you as a Mumbai model?
Not really. Emnitei Kolkatate payment khub i kom. But now Im in a position to charge a little more than others.
Do you feel that Mumbai recognised your worth and not Kolkata?
Big ad campaigns are never shot in Kolkata. Had I not shifted to Mumbai, Id have never got a chance to be featured in so many national ads.
