Ranbir Kapoor recalls heartbreak with Natalie Portman and chasing Tarantino too: 'She looked at me and said, "Get lost"'
Ranbir Kapoor recently opened up about a fan moment that didn’t go as planned. While walking on a New York street, he spotted Hollywood star Natalie Portman and excitedly ran after her for a photo.
Natalie was on a phone call and emotional. “She looked at me and said, ‘Get lost!’ and walked away. My heart broke so badly. But it’s not like I became any less of a fan,” Ranbir recalled.
Chasing legends, missing chances for Ranbir
During a recent appearance on Kapil Sharma’s show, Ranbir also shared a story about trying to get a picture with filmmaker Quentin Tarantino. While the director was nearby for a film promotion, Ranbir ran up, shouting his name. “He looked at me from the car and said, ‘Yeah, yeah,’ and didn’t even acknowledge me further. It happens more often than you think,” he added. These anecdotes reflect the funny and sometimes heartbreaking side of being a passionate fan—even for a superstar like Ranbir Kapoor.
Upcoming project: 'Ramayana'
Coming to the work front, Ranbir is fully immersed in his upcoming magnum opus, 'Ramayana,' directed by Nitesh Tiwari. The actor will portray Lord Ram, with Sai Pallavi stepping into the role of Sita. KGF star Yash will take on the character of Ravana, while Sunny Deol and Ravie Dubey play Hanuman and Laxman, respectively. The film will also mark the first collaboration of the legends Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman. Recently the makers shared the title glimpse of 'Ramayana,' which has indeed hyped the movie more. Overall the expectations are high for Nitesh Tiwari's directorial epic film.
On the other hand, Ranbir Kapoor's previous hit film was the actioner 'Animal.' Even though the film drew several controversies regarding its content, it turned out to be a success in the box office.
