Bollywood had an interesting week with Rana Daggubati tying the knot with his lady love Miheeka Bajaj in an intimate ceremony. On the other hand, Rhea Chakraborty was quizzed for hours by the Enforcement Directorate, with regards to the alleged financial irregularities raised by Sushant Singh Rajput’s father. Also, getting back to work, Akshay Kumar and several other Bollywood actors flew out of the country on a private jet to shoot for ‘Bell Bottom’. Here's a glimpse of the newsmakers of the week.
Rana Daggubati marries Miheeka Bajaj in an intimate ceremony
On August 8, Rana Daggubati tied the knot with his lady love Miheeka Bajaj in a close-knit wedding ceremony organised at the Ramanaidu Studios in Hyderabad. Adhering to the Covid-19 protocols, sanitiser stands and disinfectant tunnels were installed at the venue with less that 30 members in attendance. Rana and Miheeka’s close family members and celebrities like Samantha Akkineni, Naga Chaitanya, Ram Charan and Allu Arjun attended the glamorous wedding.
Rhea Chakraborty questioned by the Enforcement Directorate
Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik were snapped at the Enforcement Directorate’s office on Friday. The actress was reportedly questioned for hours and Showik had gone home and returned to the ED’s office with a few documents. On Saturday too, Rhea’s brother was snapped at the Enforcement Directorate’s office, but this time without the actress. Sushant Singh Rajput’s father has alleged several financial irregularities in his FIR filed in Patna and the ED is investing a case of money laundering involving Rhea. The CBI has also filed and FIR against the actress and her family this week.
Abhishek Bachchan discharged from hospital after testing Covid negative
Abhishek Bachchan was finally discharged from the hospital this week, after he tested negative for Covid-19. The actor was admitted to the hospital on July 12 and he tested negative for Covid-19 after nearly a month. Expressing his happiness, Abhishek had posted on Twitter, “I TOLD YOU! Discharge plan: YES! This afternoon I tested COVID-19 NEGATIVE. Thank you all for your prayers and wishes. I'm so happy to be able to go home.”

'Bell Bottom': Akshay Kumar and others left for Scotland
Eager to hit the sets, Akshay Kumar and team left for Scotland this week to shoot for ‘Bell Bottom’. Akshay Kumar, Lara Dutta, Huma Qureshi, producers Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh and director Ranjit M Tewari were snapped at the airport by the paparazzi. The team of ‘Bell Bottom’ had booked a charter flight to UK for their first international shoot schedule. Toeing the line for safety protocols, all the celebrities were snapped in masks and gloves.
