Rana Daggubati dubs in Hindi?
Will we get to hear the real voice of Telugu star Rana Daggubati in ‘Dum Maaro Dum’, where he makes his Bollywood debut.
Will we get to hear the real voice of Telugu star Rana Daggubati in ‘Dum Maaro Dum’, where he makes his Bollywood debut.
Whenever a South star makes his or her debut in Bollywood, one thing that is always questioned in whether they will dub in their own voice in Hindi considering many are not fluent with the language. Same was the case with Rana Daggubati who makes his Hindi debut with Dum Maaro Dum.
Ask director Rohan Sippy and he explains, “We have designed the sound such that most of the film is recorded in sync sound. So you will get to hear the real Rana”.
Talking about his choice of the Telugu star for Dum Maaro Dum, Rohan says, “The demand of the narrative is such that when Prateik’s story plays, Rana’s character needs to peripheral to the plot. Having any other known actor would have given away that ploy. So we wanted a fresh actor for the Hindi audience but at the same time with a certain level of maturity to play the character”. That’s how Rana Daggubati came into picture.
“Not only is Rana a good actor but also in terms of physicality he is as tall as Abhishek and has great chemistry with Bipasha Basu”, exclaims the filmmaker about his right choice.
