Ramba Ho fame Kalpana Iyer on Aamir Khan being called ‘very fussy’: 'It might bother you... but it was always for the betterment'
Actor-dancer Kalpana Iyer, who recently grabbed attention for recreating her iconic track Rambha Ho, has looked back at her experience of working with Bollywood’s “Mr Perfectionist” Aamir Khan.
Kalpana shared screen space with Aamir in Raja Hindustani, and years later, she has nothing but praise for the actor’s dedication and discipline.
She added that his perfectionism was evident even earlier in Tum Mere Ho.
“For me, he has always been a perfectionist. He was the same during Tum Mere Ho and remained the same in Raja Hindustani. His perfection only intensified by then. He breathes, eats, drinks, and sleeps cinema. For him, it’s not just about himself—it’s about everyone around him. I respect that. It may seem unfair or harsh at times, but the end result benefits everyone,” she said.
“At that moment, it might bother you because you’re performing and someone is suggesting changes, but it was always for the betterment,” she shared, adding, “I think he is a wonderful actor, and that reflects in every aspect of his life. He has done everything with sincerity. I only want to remember the good things. There is no time for negativity.”
Up next, he is backing Ek Din, starring his son Junaid Khan alongside Sai Pallavi. The recently unveiled teaser has already generated curiosity among audiences.
As for his acting slate, Aamir is reportedly set to portray cinema pioneer Dadasaheb Phalke in a biopic to be directed by Rajkumar Hirani, though an official announcement is still awaited. He has also confirmed that work is underway on his long-gestating dream project based on the Mahabharat.Get the latest entertainment updates from the Times of India, along with the latest Hindi movies, upcoming Hindi movies in 2026 , and Telugu movies.”
“When people say he is very fussy, I don’t think so”
Speaking to Simply Pankaj, Kalpana said, “I have very fond memories of working with Aamir. When people say he is very fussy, I don’t think so. He is very sincere, disciplined, and he likes certain things done a certain way. I don’t see why not. If he wants to deliver a performance, remain true to his role, and carry his co-artists along with him, it’s not a crime.”She added that his perfectionism was evident even earlier in Tum Mere Ho.
