'Ramayana is India's answer to Hollywood epics': Vivek Oberoi on being a part of Ranbir Kapoor-Yash starrer
Vivek Oberoi, who is set to play Vidyutjihva in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Part 1, has expressed his admiration for the much-anticipated film, calling it 'India’s answer to Hollywood epics.' The mythological saga, starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Yash as Raavan, and Sai Pallavi as Sita, is shaping up to be one of the grandest productions in Indian cinema. The movie is scheduled for a Diwali 2026 release.
Talking to Hindustan Times, Vivek shared his enthusiasm about being part of 'Ramayana' “I think Ramayana will be a landmark film for our industry. It's India’s answer to Hollywood epics. The story, the visuals, and the intent behind it make it very special,” the actor said.
‘I want to donate it to a cause I believe in’
The actor also revealed that he chose to donate his fee from the film to support a noble cause. “I told Namit (Malhotra) that I don’t want a penny for this. I want to donate it to a cause I believe in: helping kids with cancer,” he stated.
Vivek Oberoi joins Prabhas in 'Spirit'
Meanwhile, the 'Saathiya' star is also part of Spirit, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s upcoming action drama featuring Prabhas in the lead. Sharing the film’s teaser on X during Prabhas’ birthday, Vivek wrote, “#OneBadHabit is all it takes to get you #inspiritmode. And what a powerful ‘SOUND-STORY’ that was! Happy Birthday to the Rebel Star, #Prabhas! Hoping the surprise lifted your spirits! Super kicked about bringing this action to life with your unmatched magic @imvangasandeep!”
On the other hand, Vivek was last seen in 'Kesari Veer' which was directed by Prince Dhiman.
