Now, Amrit Sagar, grandson of filmmaker Ramanand Sagar in an interview with Indian Express, opened up about the new iterations of Ramayan and said that makers should refrain from tampering the story. Amrit expressed that everyone has the right to create their version of Ramayan, but it should be done with honesty. He also discussed the culture of Ramleelas in the country, highlighting how they faithfully follow the original story. "I believe that Ramayan should be open for everyone to create, why not? There's no copyright on Ramayan. However, my only request is to do it sincerely. Don't attempt to present Ramayan from a particular person's perspective. Ramayan is about the story of Ram, and that's why it's titled Ramayan," he remarked. Amrit further emphasized, "Ramleelas have been part of our country's heritage for centuries, and they adhere to the story in its entirety."

Earlier, the Prabhas-starrer was criticised for its mediocre dialogues and bad visual effects, and was panned by the audience soon after its release. Amrit shared that one must understand that if they are making Ramayan, “they have to follow the story to the tee.”

Amrit emphasized that Ramayan is not merely a story but a significant part of people's lives. He pointed out that many in India read the text daily and know it by heart, especially in rural areas. Comparing it to attempting to alter the Bible, he stressed the importance of respecting the text as it has been accepted for ages. He urged creators to follow the text faithfully and work honestly within that framework, highlighting the importance of not offending the sentiments of so many people.

Besides 'Ramayana' Ranbir will also be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Love and War' with Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal.
