Ram Kapoor says his opportunities got limited as he is a ‘typical family face’

Ram Kapoor is a household name for the Indian audience, thanks to his popularity in TV soaps as well as movies. The actor who is often admired by the family audiences, recently revealed that having a ‘family face’ has limited his opportunities as an actor.

In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Ram revealed that he had faced challenges in the film industry because of being typecast as a 'family face'. The actor expressed that since he has done many successful television shows, he became familiar to the audience as a ‘typical family face’. He also recounted how he used to always get shortlisted during the last second or third round, whenever he got a good film offer or a role.

Kapoor recalled how the makers would often hesitate to cast him as a villain or as a negative character as they think he is ‘strongly loved by the audience as a typical family face of the country’.

The actor is currently gearing up for his upcoming film ‘Yudhra’ Starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Malavika Mohanan, ‘Yudhra’ is set to hit the big screens on September 20. The film directed by Ravi Udyawar, and written by Shridhar Raghavan with dialogues by Farhan Akhtar and Akshat Ghildial, is touted to be an actioner. The film also has actors Raghav Juyal, Gajraj Rao, Ram Kapoor, Raj Arjun and Shilpa Shukla in crucial roles.

Meanwhile, Ram Kapoor also has a musical drama TV series ‘Khalbali Records’ in the pipeline.
