Bollywood 'item girl' Rakhi Sawant, against whom an obscenity case has been registered, was let-off with a warning.
KOLHAPUR: Bollywood 'item girl' Rakhi Sawant, against whom an obscenity case has been registered, was let-off with a warning, police said. Sawant was let-off after a warning was issued as it was a non-cognizable offence, Shahupuri police station sources said. A case under sections 110, 112 and 117 of the Bombay Police Act had been registered against Sawant at Shahupuri police station for "indecent behaviour and gestures" during her May 18 performance for a beer brand of which she is the brand ambassador.
Meanwhile, an organisation fighting for men's right had reportedly approached a local court in Sangli to restrain her from "repeating" her acts in the district.
A day before her show for Police Kalyan Nidhi on Saturday at Vishrambaugh, an organisation named Purush Hakk Suraksha Samiti reportedly approached the court seeking to restrain her from performing on the ground that she indulged in "obscene and vulgar acts that were against public morality". However, sources at the Vishrambaugh police station, under whose jurisdiction Sawant performed last evening, said that they had not received any court directions in this regard till Sunday.
