Hailing from Delhi, debutant director Rakesh Mehta was unfamiliar with Mumbai’s stressful life.
It was during interactions with people that he learnt that people in the city are stressed all the time. “Whenever I would call anyone, they would say, apni toh lagi gayi hai, yaar. It was this that sowed the seeds of a story and I got inspired to make a film on it,” Mehta says.

Life Ki Toh Lag Gayi is a one-day story which shows the crisis in the lives of four characters — played by actors Kay Kay Menon, Ranvir Shorey, Manurishi and Pradyuman Singh. The director adds, “All four are caught fighting crises in four different corners of the city. The audience would love it as the film is a humourous adventure depicting life as a fun ride in Mumbai.” The film releases April 20.
