Rakesh Bedi says his character in Aditya Dhar's ‘Dhurandhar’ was inspired by Pakistani politicians: ‘I studied speeches, tones, diction, and body language’
Veteran actor Rakesh Bedi has recently been going viral for his performance in Ranveer Singh-led film ‘Dhurandhar’. In one of his recent interviews, the ‘Chasme Badoor’ star opened up about his character on screen and how he managed to prepare himself for taking on the persona of the character Jameel Jamali.
Bedi also added that, “The character is inspired by real incidents and is created by combining traits of several Pakistani politicians. I studied speeches, tones, diction, and body language of many leaders-not just one. The look was designed by Aditya Sir along with the prosthetics team. I focused on the speech pattern, voice, mannerisms, and small nuances that give the character authenticity.”
He also shared that his role in ‘Dhurandhar’ was something that challenged him as an actor, which became one of the reasons why he had to say yes to the role.
Bedi also added a quick piece of advice as well, citing that, “Thinking about the character and delivering the shots should never become stressful; otherwise, the actor loses ease. An actor must be at ease first.”
