Bollywood star Rajkummar Rao, currently enjoying the success of his latest film 'Stree 2', recently shared the reason behind changing his surname from Yadav to Rao. The actor explained that the change was a personal decision to avoid confusion with other celebrities who share the same first name in the industry.
Rajkummar Rao dismissed the idea that the change was due to Bollywood traditions. In a conversation with Shubhankar Mishra, the actor stated, “Aisa koi rule nahin hai. Maine kabhi surname use kiya nahi tha. Mere passport mein bhi sirf Rajkummar hee tha (There’s no such rule. I had never used a surname before. Even in my passport, it’s just Rajkummar). This is for people to not get confused as to which Rajkummar you are talking about. Rajkummar Hirani, Santoshi, Gupta or this one. And Rao is a title which is given to Yadavs, so I started using it."
On the work front, Rajkummar will be seen in 'Vicky Vidya ka Woh Wala Video' and 'Bhul Chuk Maaf'.
