South superstar Rajinikanth set social media on fire when he joined a micro-blogging site on Monday. While he had 10K followers even before his first — and so far only — tweet, the number shot up to 25K followers after his first tweet. The media, Rajini’s fans, and the film industry were abuzz with the news of the actor’s tweet on his micro-blogging webpage. But Thalaivar is not the first to garner so much attention with a social media endeavour.Here’s a look at other Indian celebs who sent social media in a tizzy:

Aaamir Khan:Aamir Khan is said to have been persuaded by none other than Amitabh Bachchan to join social media. He was welcomed to micro-blogging by Karan Johar, and was followed by over 40K people on his first day.
Deepika Padukone: Deepika Padukone got over 1.5 million likes within minutes of launching her social networking page. This made Deepika popular on the mirco-blogging site, pushing her follower tally to 2.6 million.

Sachin Tendulkar: Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar outnumbered all Bollywood actors within minutes of joining the micro-blogging website. The cricketer, fondly called Master Blaster, had over 88K followers on his first day.
Amitabh Bachchan: When Amitabh Bachchan joined the micro-blogging website in 2010, he got over 4K followers within minutes of his first tweet. When he eventually joined a social networking site, he had over 8 lakh followers within hours.
Shah Rukh Khan: The Bollywood Badshah joined the micro-blogging site in 2010, and had over 11K followers in a day. In his first tweet, the actor said that he joined the forum on the insistence of his friend, filmmaker Karan Johar.
Salman Khan: Salman Khan jumped on the bandwagon in 2010, after his brother Arbaaz suggested he do so. Within a few hours of joining the micro-blogging website, Salman had over 2K followers. When his social networking account went live, though, Sallu garnered over 2.5 million likes within a few minutes.
