Rajinikanth on Kamal Haasan's political views

Tamil Nadu is currently facing a political turmoil with respect to the ongoing agitations around the Cauvery River. Superstar Rajinikanth who recently set foot in the world of politics joined his colleagues in a silent protest to support the Cauvery Management Board (CBM) and against the Sterlite copper plant in Thoothukudi.
Rajinikanth had a brief interaction with the media right before taking off for the protest where he highlighted the political issues that the state is currently facing.Showing dissent over the delay in State’s decision to abide by the Supreme Court’s decision, he said that the Centre is wasting time instead of forming the Cauvery board as per the Supreme Court directions. He also added that every Tamilan unanimously wants is CBM and if the board isn’t set up at the earliest, the Centre will be subjected to the anger and disappointment of every Tamilan.
The entire state of Tamil Nadu seems to have come together for the protest giving way to people from different walks of life participating for their rights. Throwing light on the Sterlite issue Rajini further added how industries and factories who aim at ruining people’s lives and basic needs will never be able to achieve peace of mind. He also noted that he was not completely against the industries. He suggested that he will be okay with industries that don’t threaten the safety of the environment.
Rajinikanth was also quizzed about his thoughts on Kamal Haasan and what if he takes up ‘spiritual politics’. He said that he won’t oppose Kamal and emphasised how he is not his enemy. He concluded by establishing that poverty, corruption, unemployment, tears of the poor and farmers are his only enemies.
