However, his recent comments about the film's co-stars Aamir Khan and Soubin Shahir didn't sit well with the audience. Rajinikanth calls Aamir Khan 'short' and Soubin Shahir 'bald'

During the audio launch of the film on August 2, the veteran actor gave a long speech on the stage in Chennai. At that time, Rajinikanth shared that when he got to know that Aamir had joined the film, he asked director Lokesh Kanagaraj how many years it will take to complete the movie, as the Bollywood actor generally takes a long time. He added, "Just like Kamal Haasan, he is the one in the North. There's Salman Khan on one side and Shah Rukh Khan on the other. He stands tall among them all despite being short. What a legend! A legend! My salute to you, sir."



In the same speech, the legendary superstar added that when he heard Soubin Shahir was on board for the project, he asked Lokesh who the actor was and in which film he had appeared. The director answered, 'Manjummel Boys.' Sharing further, Rajinikanth said, "I still had doubts and even questioned whether he would suit the role because he was bald. But I eventually stayed quiet because Lokesh had full confidence in him."
