Riteish Deshmukh defers 'Raja Shivaji' anthem release in honor of Asha Bhosle
The production house of 'Raja Shivaji' took to its social media account to issue a statement about the same. It read, "The voice that ruled our hearts for decades has fallen silent today. With the passing of the legendary Asha Bhosle, we mourn the loss of a golden chapter in music. As a mark of respect, we are postponing the release of the Raja Shivaji anthem, ‘Chhatrapati.' A new date will be announced soon."

Directed by Riteish Deshmukh, the film features him in the titular character. The movie is based on the life of the founder of the Maratha Empire, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Apart from Riteish, the film also stars Genelia Deshmukh as Saibai, alongside Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Mahesh Manjrekar,

Asha Bhosle took her last breath at the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on April 12, 2026. The music icon was admitted to the hospital a day earlier. The Antim Darshan will take place at her residence in the Casa Grande building in Lower Parel, Mumbai, from 11 am onwards. Her funeral is set to be held at Shivaji Park in Dadar.
