Did you expect this? </span><br /><br />Not really. I knew people would appreciate my work, but the response has really surprised me.<br /><br /><span style="" font-weight:="" bold="">In </span><span style="" font-weight:="" bold="" font-style:="" italic="">Chokher Bali,</span><span style="" font-weight:="" bold=""> you play a a naive village girl and wife. Was this difficult? </span><br /><br />Obviously it was very difficult portraying a naive village girl. Taking into consideration my Anglicised background, it was very difficult bringing out this simple quality. It was a very tough role. This simplicity had to come out at <a href="http://movies.indiatimes.com/articleshow/285044.cms" target="_blank">each and every stage</a>. But honestly, my director was fabulous. He made it easy for me. There was no workshop or rehearsal - he just explained things to me really well. The day I went on the sets, I understood what he wanted.<br /><br /><span style="" font-weight:="" bold="">Tell us about your future projects. </span><br /><br />I have <a href="http://movies.indiatimes.com/articleshow/333246.cms" target="_blank">Funtoosh</a><span style="" font-style:="" italic="">, 99.9 FM </span>and <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Bachelors</span> to look forward to in the future. <br /><br /></div> </div><div class="section2"><div class="Normal"><span style="" font-weight:="" bold="">How would you rate yourself in terms of acting when compared to your mother and grandmother? </span><br /><br />That''s not fair. We are three different generations so it’s not fair to compare. We all have our own identity.<br /><br /><span style="" font-weight:="" bold="">What was your grandmother''s reaction to </span><span style="" font-weight:="" bold="" font-style:="" italic="">Chokher Bali</span><span style="" font-weight:="" bold="">? </span><br /><br />She has not seen the film but she feels very happy and proud based on what she has heard. When Rituparno Ghosh gave me a novel about the character in <a href="http://movies.indiatimes.com/articleshow/282654.cms" target="_blank">Chokher Bali,</a> I gave it to my grandmother. She read the novel to me and explained the characterisation. <br /><br /><span style="" font-weight:="" bold="">Do you want to do only serious cinema now? </span><br /><br />Not at all.My heart is in cinema and both genres require acting talent. Even comedy is difficult. For me, there has to be a good director and the role has to be good enough. </div> </div>
