1/7

Rahul Roy

He was an overnight sensation after his first romantic movie, ‘Aashiqui’ (1990). The music is what defined the film and, blended with his negative mannerism, made Rahul an immediate heartthrob. However, after a few unsuccessful films, he ultimately lost steam and fell off the underground circuit, eventually disappearing from the mainstream.

2/7

Raj Kiran

With his soulful eyes and boy-next-door persona, Raj Kiran also impressed audiences with strong performances for ‘Karz’ and ‘Arth.’ After a mysterious disappearance that puzzled both audiences and the film industry, reports surfaced many years later that he had been living in a mental health facility in the United States, and there was an unfortunate destiny to a promising career.

3/7

Asin Thottumkal

Asin, a superstar of South Indian cinema, revealed her Bollywood debut in an iconic role in 'Ghajini' (2008) with Aamir Khan, and later on she had phenomenal success with 'Ready' and 'Housefull 2.' After 2016, Asin decided to quit acting to focus on personal happiness and contentment with a life she built with her husband, Rahul Sharma, an entrepreneur.

4/7

Ayesha Takia

Ayesha Takia was considered one of the cutest young actresses during her time because of her enchanting physicality in ‘Dor’ and ‘Wanted.’ Although she had a whole series of career lulls and choices in her personal life, she ultimately left acting altogether.

5/7

Zayed Khan

Zayed Khan initially burst onto the screen as the stylish college heartthrob in 'Main Hoon Na' (2004) and appeared in a number of ensemble films thereafter before losing box office popularity to real estate and other business interests while moving away from acting altogether.

6/7

Gayatri Joshi

Her work in 'Swades' (2004), opposite Shah Rukh Khan, is still the most memorable performance. Gayatri was charming, natural, and graceful, and everyone fell in love with her immediately. But she was married to businessman Vikas Oberoi, chose not to continue the visibility she gained in her first film, and lived a full life with her children.

7/7

Gracy Singh

Gracy Singh, known for Lagaan in 2001 and Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. (2003), had a bright future ahead, and she seemed to have everything needed for an extended cinematic career. But she chose to slowly move into television and then into a spiritual space and did not return to cinema, even though she once lit up the silver screen.
