It is always important to be aware of history, for one can always learn what happened then and also avoid repeating the mistakes. Actor Anupam Kher and filmmaker-actor Rahul Mittra are currently exploring the bylanes of history in Vietnam.
The two were recently spotted at the War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam which has been exhibiting the remains and memories of the Vietnam War that was fought between 1954 and 1975, ahead of the grand opening of the Namaste Vietnam Festival .
Rahul and Anupam are currently in Vietnam as a part of the Indian delegation at the festival organised by the Embassy of India in Vietnam and the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City under the aegis of the Ministry of External Affairs. The festival’s theme will highlight the Vietnamese and Indian people's solidarity and friendship, it will also feature an Indian film festival where six movies will be screened between 12th and 15th August.
Speaking about the visit to the museum, Rahul Mittra said, "It was overwhelming to see how the Vietnamese suffered in the war against America. The appalling conditions of prisoners and the atrocities they were subjected to was heart wrenching. No wonder Vietnamese, like us Indians, value freedom and peace so much."
