Raghav Chadha reveals Parineeti Chopra manages the money: 'She is both the Finance and Home Minister'
When news of Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha's romance first broke in 2023, it took many by surprise. Their public appearances at Mumbai eateries sparked immediate curiosity, leading up to their beautiful wedding in September of that year. The couple recently appeared on The Great Indian Kapil Show, where they shared a lighthearted look into their marriage, finances, and how their love story began with a simple breakfast meeting. During the show, the couple hilariously discussed who manages the money at home, offering a refreshing and candid peek into their relationship.
Here's a closer look at the conversation that transpired on the show.
Raghav Chadha on Parineeti Chopra handling the finances:
During their conversation, Kapil Sharma shared, “Most of you must be aware Raghavi is also a CA (Chartered Accountant).” Addressing the audience, Kapil asked, “Who would know money management better than him?” However, he then curiously turned towards Raghav and asked, “But, after your marriage to Parineeti… who takes care of the finances?”
Raghav smartly replied, “To manage money, one needs to have money. Among us, Parineeti is the one with money, so she is the one who manages finances.” He added, “Her job pays her well, mine doesn’t. She is both the Finance and Home Minister of our house.”
More about Raghav Chadha and Parineeti Chopra's wedding:
In the same episode, the pair also talked about their wedding day, when the custom of hiding the shoes was a complete failure. Parineeti shared, “My friend who stole his shoes, ended up giving it to someone from the groom’s side, so when the time came, they already had it.” However, Raghav claimed, “Actually, soon after our pheras, it started to drizzle, so the bride’s friends brought me the shoes so that I don’t slip.”
Parineeti added, “We had made a rule at our wedding that there won’t be any milni aur joota chupayi. And nobody will give over Rs 11 as shagun. So, we didn’t even get Rs 10 for hiding the shoes.”
The close friends and family of Raghav Chadha and Parineeti Chopra attended their little wedding in Udaipur. An ardas ceremony was held in Delhi to begin their pre-wedding rituals. After this, there was a sufi night. Following a plane ride to Udaipur on September 22, the couple celebrated their wedding on September 23 and haldi and mehendi ceremonies there.
Parineeti gushes over Raghav Chadha:
Previously, talking at Raj Shamani’s podcast, Parineeti shared her love story with her husband. “We met at an event in London, and usually, I’d just say hi and move on, but this time, I said, ‘Let’s meet for breakfast’. Including our teams, it was around 8-10 of us, and we met at breakfast the next day. I had no idea who he was and what he did. I literally looked him up after the breakfast. I learned about all the work he’s done, and we realised, not even in weeks, in days, that we would get married.”
She added, “I swear, I met Raghav, and within five minutes, I knew I was going to marry this man. I didn’t even know if he was married, had children, how old he was… He just sat at breakfast in front of me, and I’m looking at this man and saying, ‘I think I’m going to marry this man’. It was some God’s voice inside me.”
Meanwhile on the work front, Parineeti Chopra was last seen in the biographical drama 'Amar Singh Chamkila.' Reportedly, Chopra will star in an untitled mystery thriller series directed by Rensil D'Silva, which is set to stream on Netflix. Earlier this year, Parineeti Chopra also wrapped up the shooting of Anurag Singh's highly anticipated thriller 'Sanki,' where she will share screen-space with Varun Dhawan.
