A Raja, Niira Radia and Suresh Kalmadi — three people allegedly involved in scams that rocked the nation in 2010, gain notoriety on celluloid through a docu-drama on the lines of Michael Moore’s Fahrenheit 9/11 that searches for the truth while spoofing the controversies that left India red-faced globally. Niira, the professional lobbyist in the spectrum scam, has another Bollywood film, 2G Radia-tion, also being made on her with actress/model
Poonam Jhawar playing the lead.
The docu-drama will use reports published on Niira and her telephonic conversations with eminent politicians, businessmen and journalists.
Sacked Commonwealth Games Organising Committee chairman Suresh Kalmadi is also a star in this docu-drama titled Scams of India for the list of things that went wrong during the Games. So is former telecom minister A Raja, who came under pressure from the opposition over the illegal spectrum allocation case. Producer Shailendra Singh said, “It is a film that has comedy, kind of dark, on the situation that our country faced because of the scams. We are in the middle of casting and will have characters playing Manmohan Singh as well as the people in question.”
