Radhika Apte, one of the most versatile and fearless performers in Indian cinema, has built a reputation for choosing unconventional roles across projects like ‘Sacred Games’, ‘Ghoul’, and ‘Lust Stories’. Known for her honesty and zero-nonsense attitude, the actress continues to balance her life between London and Mumbai while working across films, OTT, and international content. In a recent conversation, she opened up about whether living away from Mumbai affects her career, and her answer was as candid as ever.
Radhika Apte has no fear of missing out
During a chat with IANS, Apte was asked whether not being permanently based in Mumbai causes her to lose out on work opportunities. Brushing off the idea completely, she said she doesn’t believe geography impacts her career choices.
Radhika explained, “If I want to do something, I'll come there. And if I miss it, I miss it. There's something else I have here. So, I don't believe in that.”
Calling herself someone who is grounded and realistic about life, she added that she never feels pressured by the fear of missing out. “I don't have any FOMO about missing out on anything. I don't think anything is as big as we think it is, you know.”
Her journey from small beginnings to breaking Bollywood stereotypes
Radhika Apte entered the film industry with a small role in the 2005 film ‘Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi!’. Over the years, she steadily shaped a remarkable filmography with titles like ‘Shor In The City’, ‘Kabali’, ‘Phobia’, ‘Badlapur’, and the acclaimed short film ‘Ahalya’.
Apte is especially credited for shattering the traditional image of a Bollywood heroine through unforgettable performances in ‘Phobia’, ‘Badlapur’, ‘Manjhi: The Mountain Man’, ‘Lust Stories’, ‘Sacred Games’, ‘Pad Man’, and ‘Ghoul’. Her characters often explore complex emotional and psychological themes, cementing her reputation as one of the industry’s most fearless performers.
