‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’, ‘'83’, ‘Atrangi Re’: Here's when Bollywood's most-awaited films will release in 2021

After suffering a setback in the form of the coronavirus-induced countrywide shutdown in 2020, the Hindi film industry is looking at 2021 with a lot of hope. With reports of shoot completions and new film announcements, Bollywood seems to be hellbent on making the most of the year and now, release dates of completed films are being discussed and announced every day. From Salman Khan keeping his date with Eid for ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’ to Kabir Khan choosing June 4 as his new release date for Ranveer Singh-starrer ‘’83’, here is a lowdown on the release dates of upcoming films of 2021.

‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’

Prabhudheva’s ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’ starring Salman Khan is one of the most-awaited films on Bollywood. The film was supposed to hit the theatres last year but was pushed ahead due to the pandemic and the resulting lockdown. The film is now scheduled to release in May, on Eid. It will mark Salman’s second collaboration with Disha Patani after ‘Bharat’, and also features Jackie Shroff and Randeep Hooda in key roles.

‘Satyameva Jayate 2’

After the successful first instalment, Milap Zaveri is all set to bring the second one to the theatres too. The John Abraham and Divya Khosla Kumar-starrer, which was scheduled to release last year, will be hitting the theatres in May this year and will lock horns with Salman Khan starrer ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’ at the box-office as both the films are aiming at an Eid release. This will be the first big clash at the box-office in 2021.

‘Atrangi Re’

Aanand L Rai's 'Atrangi Re’ was earlier scheduled for a release on Valentine’s Day this year. However, the pandemic threw the shoot astray and the release date was pushed ahead. Now, the makers have chosen August 6, 2021, as the new release date. The film stars Sara Ali Khan, Dhanush, and Akshay Kumar. This is the first time that the trio will come together for a film.

‘Shershaah’

The makers of Sidharth Malhotra-starrer ‘Shershaah’ have also announced a new release date today. The movie will now hit theatres on July 2, 2021. Directed by Vishnu Varadhan, the film is based on the life of war hero Vikram Batra who was posthumously awarded Param Vir Chakra for his bravery. It will also star Sidharth’s rumoured girlfriend Kiara Advani who will play Vikram’s fiancé Dimple Cheema in the film.

‘83’

Filmmaker Kabir Khan's much-awaited "83" is set to arrive in theatres on June 4, more than a year after it was originally scheduled to release. The film chronicles the Indian cricket team's first World Cup win under the captaincy of Kapil Dev in 1983 when they defeated the West Indies in the final to win the championship.''83' will release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. It stars Ranveer Singh in the role of cricketer Kapil Dev and Deepika Padukone in the role of his wife Romi Dev. The movie also features Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Pankaj Tripathi and others in key roles.

‘Roohi’

Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor’s highly-anticipated horror comedy ‘Roohi’, which recently dropped its trailer, will be released on the big screen on March 11, 2021. Roohi will be released worldwide to celebrate cinemas finally getting the green signal to operate at 100 percent capacity. After the massive success of ‘Stree’, the team has reunited to further build the cinematic universe in the family-friendly horror-comedy franchise with the film that also stars Varun Sharma.

8/11

‘Jhund’

Amitabh Bachchan confirmed on Friday that his upcoming film ‘Jhund’ will release in theatres on June 18. In the film, directed by Marathi director Nagraj Manjule of ‘Sairat’ fame, Big B plays the lead role modelled after Slum Soccer founder Vijay Barse. The film narrates the story of a professor who encourages street children to build a football team, to help them find a purpose in life.

9/11

‘Bell Bottom’

Ranjit M Tewari’s ‘Bell Bottom’, starring Akshay Kumar, Vaani Kapoor, Huma Qureshi and Lara Dutta in lead roles, was the first film to fly out of India to complete its shooting amidst the pandemic after the lockdown. The film is all set to hit the theatres on May 28, 2021, and will be clashing with Vin Diesel and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson starrer ‘Fast And Furious 9: The Fast Saga’.

10/11

‘Jersey’

After ‘Kabir Singh’, Shahid Kapoor is ready with yet another Hindi remake of a hit Telugu movie titled, ‘Jersey’. The actor will essay the role of a cricketer in the film. The film is scheduled for a Diwali release this year and will hit the theatres on November 5. Apart from Shahid, the movie also stars Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur in lead roles. It is being directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri.

‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’
