Ra.One mindless, enjoyable: Pritish Nandy

Filmmaker and columnist Pritish Nandy braved a screening of Ra.One, even though random people discouraged him from watching the film as he went in to buy tickets.
Later, he tweeted, "A 100 wild horses cannot drag me back to watching Ra1 again. But, yes, I enjoyed my first watch. Glad I made it. Ra1 has no script. It drags on and on. But it has Kareena back to looking devastatingly sexy.And SRK is, ahem, SRK."
He actually managed to enjoy the movie, he says. "I'm no fan of SRK but I must say, even if it disappoints you all, I enjoyed Ra1. Cheeky, charming, with Kareena too sexy for words. The problem with Ra1 is that it does not connect with SRK's own fan base. They were cursing the film and walking out."
He adds, "But Ra1 is a delightful new entry into the successful new genre of mindless movies that Bollywood has now fashioned for itself. So dont judge Ra1 by any critical standards. Just go watch it, as you would watch Singh is King or Gol Maal, and you may enjoy it. The jokes are a bit wicked. But no, they are not really sleazy."
