Wendell Rodricks’ criticism of
Priyanka Chopra’s risqué Grammy’s gown may have been a bitter pill to swallow, but mom
Madhu Chopra insists that they have no hard feelings and are saddened over the designer’s passing.
In a recent interview, Madhu made it clear that neither her or Priyanka held any grudges against the designer for his controversial statement, but were shocked to hear about his sudden demise on Wednesday.
Madhu stated that while disagreements may happen, one should not hold on to it forever. She also went on to point out that the ace designer had later issued a clarification.
When asked if Priyanka was affected by the designer’s comment, Madhu stated that it only made her stronger.
Sharing her shock about his passing, Madhu said that at first, she couldn’t believe the news. Calling Wendell a “nice guy”, she stated that he had worked with her daughter in ‘Fashion’. She also mourned his loss, saying that we all lost a “great and talented” man.
Wendell was laid to rest on Thursday evening in a funeral ceremony attended by family and friends at St Francis of Assisi Church in Colvale, his ancestral village of Colvale in North Goa.
According to reports, the designer, 59, passed away peacefully in his sleep. The cause of death was reported to be heart failure.
Although the family put out a sign on their residence requesting privacy, the funeral ceremony was reportedly open to everybody and all his friends from the town and abroad were all in attendance.
