Priyanka Chopra remembers her late father Ashok Chopra; shares sweet throwback PIC: ‘Miss you every day, dad’
Priyanka Chopra marked her father’s 12th death anniversary with a heartfelt tribute. The actress, who lost her father Dr Ashok Chopra to cancer in 2013, shared a special moment from her childhood on Instagram. In the photo, a young PeeCee is seen with her dad, smiling and carefree. She added a short but emotional message to it, “Miss you every day, dad.”
The picture, likely from a family holiday, gave fans a peek into the warm bond they shared. Simple yet powerful, the post reminded many of the deep love between a daughter and her father.
‘The pain would never go away’
Priyanka has often spoken openly about how much she misses her father. The grief of losing him is something she has carried with her over the years. In an episode of the Read the Room podcast, she spoke honestly about how grief has become a part of her life.
She said, “After my dad passed away, I came to a slow but steady conclusion that the kind of pain would never go away. It’s your companion… There will be days when it comes out in a biggish way and wants to stay over for dinner or maybe a week, and there will be days when you don’t even remember about it until you see a photo…”
Grief on set: How 'Mary Kom' helped her cope
Just days after losing her father, Priyanka was back at work. She had started filming ‘Mary Kom’, a role that required physical power and emotional depth. At the Red Sea International Film Festival, she shared how she handled such a tough time.
She said, “So, I went back to work four days after his funeral because I know that’s what my dad wanted me to do, and I put all my grief into those fight scenes.” Channelling her emotions into the film helped her stay strong.
Big projects ahead for PriyankaWhile remembering her father, Priyanka is also moving forward with exciting projects. She is set to star in the action-thriller ‘Heads of State’ alongside John Cena and Idris Elba. She also has the period drama ‘The Bluff’ lined up, followed by the second season of the spy series ‘Citadel’. Indian fans are eagerly waiting to see her in ‘SSMB29’, a film by S S Rajamouli with Mahesh Babu.
