Reports have been doing the rounds that Priyanka is being considered as the sole ambassador for the campaign owing to her overseas popularity. The actress, who won the People's Choice Award for 'Favourite Actress in a TV Series' and also presented at the Oscars this year, has become a household name and gained the status of an international icon.
According to sources, it is believed that bringing Priyanka onboard will help change India's image as an unsafe destination for women.

However, Union tourism minister Mahesh Sharma denied having dropped Amitabh off the list or roping in Priyanka saying that the Ministry is yet to take a decision.
