Priyadarshan announces Haiwaan with Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan; netizens believe it will be a blockbuster

Filmmaker Priyadarshan has officially confirmed his next project, Haiwaan, featuring Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan. The well-known Mollywood director took to his Instagram account to share a candid photo of the two actors from Lord’s Cricket Stadium in London while announcing the exciting news.

Saif and Akshay were spotted watching the India vs England Test match, and the picture has since gone viral on social media. Saif kept it casual in a blue shirt and was seen watching the game with a wide smile on his face. Akshay, who looked stylish in a pink blazer over a white shirt, was seen chatting with Saif, also smiling.

Priyadarshan captioned the image, “Haiwaan – my next film with @akshaykumar and Saif Ali Khan at Lord’s.”

This marks the first collaboration between the two actors since Tashan (2008), and filming for Haiwaan is set to commence this August. The movie is aiming for a theatrical release in 2026.

Fans flooded the comments section with excitement and requests. One user wrote, “Another blockbuster in the making!” Another commented, “Dear Sir, we need Akshay Kumar Sir in a massy, never-seen-before bearded look (sic).”

Haiwaan is expected to be the Hindi adaptation of the 2016 Malayalam thriller Oppam, which starred Mohanlal in the lead. According to HT City, Akshay and Saif were highly enthusiastic after reading the script.
