Debutant Priyaank Sharma, actress
Padmini Kolhapure and filmmaker Tutu Sharma’s son, will make his foray into Bollywood with first-time director Karan V Kashyap’s Sab Kushal Mangal. The situational comedy revolves around a string of events that occur in a small town. It’s widely known that Priyaank was expected to star in another film for his debut but he opted to work on Sab Kushal Mangal instead.
When asked to speak about the change in his decision, Priyaank said, “Akshaye Khanna was one of the reasons I gave the nod to Sab Kushal Mangal. I feel grateful that he really did put me to ease. I remember we were shooting a night scene. That was the first day I was going to shoot scenes with
Akshaye Khanna and I had already shot for 10 hours. I was so tired by the time we started doing the scene together that I was goofing up lines and missing my pauses. He came to my rescue. He put me to such ease. He decided to do my lines with me and helped me relax. Gradually, as I got to know him, I became a fan of the person that he is. I never felt intimidated by him and that is not because of me, but him. He moved into the space of an elder brother who always sat and rehearsed with me and made sure I gave the shot my best. He was so generous. We really bonded well.”
