The demise of former US President Jimmy Carter left a void that can’t be filled. As the news of his passing away came out, social media got flooded with memories capturing different moments of his life. One of the social media posts that recently caught our attention has been shared by political leader Priya Dutt which features her father, the legendary Bollywood star Sunil Dutt sharing smiles with Jimmy Carter and Rosalynn.

Sharing the black and white photo, Priya Dutt wrote - “The world has lost another extraordinary soul with the passing of Jimmy Carter. A man who tirelessly worked for peace & humanity. Sharing a precious moment of my dad with him and his wife Roslyn that reminds me of the kindness & warmth he shared with the world. Rest In Peace."


For the unversed, former US President Jimmy Carter breathed his last at the age of 100 on Sunday at his home in Plains, Georgia, as reported by The Washington Post. The news was confirmed by his son James E Carter III, who didn’t get into the details of what led to Jimmy Carter’s demise. However, back in 2023, Carter Center's statement revealed that after a series of hospital stays, Jimmy decided to stop further medical treatment and spend his remaining time at home under hospice care.

He was taking treatment for an aggressive form of melanoma skin cancer, with tumors that spread to his liver and brain.

Though he is gone but will never be forgotten. He was a Nobel Prize winner who will always be remembered for the signing of the Camp David Accords, which led to the first significant Israeli withdrawal from territory captured in the Six-Day War of 1967 and a peace treaty between Israel and Egypt that has endured.
