Rahul Bhat as Pawan Kumar

A highly educated Pawan Kumar quits his cushy job in the US and returns to his village in India. The plight of the locals spurs him to fight for the farmers' rights. 'Pawan is a realistic character who conveys a strong social message. The role may not be lengthy, but it makes an impact,' says Rahul.

Ninad Kamat as Dabloo Pandey

Under his brother MLA Babloo Pandey (Manav Kaul), Dabloo flourishes as a land mafioso, using policemen as legitimate goons to do the dirty work. Ninad says, 'He is a man you'd love to hate. While I was preparing to lose weight, Prakashji insisted he wanted a plump Dabloo.'

Murli Sharma as Munna Mardaani

Babloo's right-hand man, Munna Mardaani gets his name due to his effeminate mannerisms. Murli states, 'I fell for the name. Playing this edgy character was challenging as an actor can easily go over the top in a part like this. Prakashji gave me a free hand when it came to working on the nuances of the role.'

Vega Tamotia as Sunita

A farmer's daughter, Sunita is not very educated but is far-sighted enough to see the bigger picture and the threat that is looming large. Her refusal to give in to the demands of the local MLA and the land mafia to sell her land comes at a heavy price. She exclaims, 'Having lived in Australia and New Zealand, it was challenging to play such a rural character. I feel that after this, I'm confident of doing any role.'
