Prakash Jha, who had uncovered the underbelly of
Bihar in his films rom Apaharan to Jai
Gangaajal
, reveals that he has never shot any film in the state. The director, who was recently in the capital to speak at a conference, surprised the audience by admitting that even as the stories of most of his films are based in Bihar, their shooting never took place there.
He said, 'I have never shot a single film in Bihar. But I have shot seven films in Bhopal because the permissions are easy.' Sharing an incident, he said, 'When we were shooting for Satyagraha, we wanted to change the location but we didn't have permission, so we went to the concerned official. The orders were issued at midnight and in the morning, we were shooting at another location.'
