Filmmaker Pradeep Sarkar passed away on March 24 at 3:30 am. Sarkar was suffering from a renal problem and was on dialysis.
Talking about Pradeep Sarkar, Madhu Sarkar told ETimes, a few minutes ago, "It started with viral fever. Then, he developed breathing issues and his blood pressure went low. They put him on a ventilator and this time he could not fight it out."
This time? "Well, there had been occasions in the past when Pradeep was put on a ventilator and he survived. I thought even this time..." she trailed off.
Madhu Sarkar continued, "Even for his dialysis, right till the end, he went all alone. He was working on shoots and scripts till March 20. My brother was a very brave man who lived his life to the fullest. If he was not in a good mood, he would ask me to make some nice food so that he could feel better; he was a foodie. But no, he wasn't a fitness freak. His wife Panchali is a very strong lady and she looked after him very well."
Madhu says she will miss her brother very much. "We worked together for more than 20 years."
The entire family was together when the end came at the hospital where he had been admitted.
Pradeep Sarkar's last rites will be held at Mumbai's Santacruz Crematorium at 4 pm, today.
