Mrunal Thakur's latest appearance was in the multi-starrer film 'Kalki 2898 AD', where she garnered acclaim for her brief 5-minute cameo. The movie draws heavy inspiration from the Mahabharata and is set in a dystopian future. It revolves around four main characters: Sumathi (played by Deepika Padukone), a pregnant woman believed to carry the 10th avatar of Vishnu; Ashwatthama (portrayed by Amitabh Bachchan), an immortal tasked with protecting the unborn child; Supreme Yaskin (played by Kamal Haasan), a ruthless villain determined to kill the child fearing its powers; and Bhairava (depicted by Prabhas), a bounty hunter motivated by monetary gain.

On the professional front, Mrunal Thakur will be next seen in the film 'Pooja Meri Jaan'. Directed by Navjot Gulati, it is currently in post-production. This Hindi thriller also stars Vijay Raaz, Huma Qureshi, Vikram Singh Chauhan, Chaitanya Vyas, and others. It is produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik.
