Sushant Singh Rajput's apartment has been available in the rental market for quite a while now, but it hasn't yet found a taker. In previous reports it was revealed that the apartment's owner was asking for Rs 5 lakh rent and the deal wasn't getting locked.
Popular real estate agent Rafique Merchant has been responsible for getting a tenant and despite having reached the final phase of negotiations on multiple occasions, a final deal hasn't been made yet.

ETimes spoke to Merchant, who revealed, "Time and pricing are the key factors. The prices are more compatible than the others. If the house is redone completely then it becomes easy. I have managed to sell a couple of houses like this earlier also. Times have changed now. And people are coming to see the apartments."

In the case of SSR's apartment, Merchant revealed that the rent amount is crucial. He said, "If the rent is reduced to a reasonable price, then it will be a done deal." But the real interest for the apartment where SSR passed away is not from potential tenants but buyers. Merchant revealed, "Surprisingly, I am getting a lot of calls from buyers. They want to buy the apartment outright. There are a lot of investors who want to buy it. But the owner just doesn’t want to sell it."
Merchant who has years of experience at closing real estate deals in Mumbai feels the time is right for a sale. He explained, "The house will be in the news as long as it is vacant. Once it is rented out, there won’t be any talks about it. A lot of people are coming and checking the house because the inspections are on."
Whether SSR's Bandra home will be rented or not is the big question. Apparently, the perception that a famous personality died in the house is no longer a deterrent to potential customers.
