Payal Kapadia’s 'All We Imagine As Light' wins Grand Prix award at Cannes 2024; Bollywood hails the ‘historic’ moment

It was a historic moment for India as Payal Kapadia helmed ‘All We Imagine as Light’ won the Grand Prix award at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. While the film had received a standing ovation during its screening, it later took home the prestigious prize of the festival after Palme d’Or, during the closing ceremony.

While Kiara Advani congratulated the team, Bhumi Pednekar tagged the team as, "Bravo". Soni Razhad also shared in her Instagram stories, "OMG! This is incredible. Huge congratulations Payal Kapadia and team."

All We Imagine As Light, directed and penned by Payal, features stellar performances BY Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, Chhaya Kadam, and Hridhu Haroon. Notably, it clinched the esteemed Grand Prix, marking a historic win as the first Indian film to do so. Additionally, it shattered a three-decade-long barrier by securing a spot in the coveted Palme d'Or award at Cannes.
