In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Parineeti discussed her experience gaining weight for the film and how it affected her career. Director Imtiaz Ali advised her to gain weight and minimize makeup to authentically portray Amarjot Kaur. Parineeti agreed, saying she wanted to fully commit to her role, even though industry friends warned her against gaining weight as it could negatively impact her career.

Due to the significant weight gain and her focus on the film, Parineeti chose to limit her public appearances and avoid the red carpet scene. She revealed that during this time, she missed out on work opportunities and faced rumors regarding pregnancy and plastic surgery.

Despite the challenges, Parineeti expressed her preference for roles like Amarjot Kaur over fashion statements and public appearances. She noted that she doesn't regret her decision and is proud of her work in "Amar Singh Chamkila."

Drawing inspiration from fellow actress Vidya Balan, who gained weight for her role in "The Dirty Picture," Parineeti remains determined to prioritize her craft and character portrayals over external expectations. She believes that her dedication to her roles ultimately leads to fulfilling and meaningful work in the film industry.
