After the untimely demise of
Rishi Kapoor,
Paresh Rawal stepped into the shoes of the late legendary actor to complete his film, ‘
Sharmaji Namkeen
’. The makers are now aiming to release the film on Kapoor’s birth anniversary in September.
According to a report in a news portal, following the demise of Rishi, Paresh stepped into his shoes to complete the remaining portions of the movie. While the actor, along with Satish Shah, had shot for some portions of the film in March this year, the shoot was put on hold due to the lockdown-like situation in the country. Now the team has resumed shooting and are filming some pivotal scenes at a school in the city. Director
Hitesh Bhatia has charted out a week-long schedule for the movie after which they will call it a wrap.
The report also added that the makers are aiming to release the film on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Rishi Kapoor. The comedy-drama revolves around a 60-year-old who discovers the joy of life post-retirement.
Apart from Paresh Rawal and Satish Shah, the movie will also star
Juhi Chawla in the lead role.
Rishi Kapoor left for his heavenly abode on April 30, 2020 after a long battle with
cancer
. He is survived by his wife Neetu Kapoor, son
Ranbir Kapoor and daughter Riddhima Kapoor.
