Pankaj Tripathi denies working with Kamal Haasan in 'Thug Life': ‘Bhasha Hindi honi chahiye…’
Amid growing speculation about his involvement in Kamal Haasan's upcoming film 'Thug Life', actor Pankaj Tripathi has come forward to put the rumours to rest. Contrary to reports circulating online, Tripathi has firmly denied being a part of the much-awaited movie.
Pankaj Tripathi about working with Kamal
In a conversation with India Today, Pankaj Tripathi dismissed the buzz with clarity. "Yeh jhooti khabar hai, yeh satya nahi hai (This is false news, it’s not true)," he stated. He also emphasised how misinformation can spread swiftly online.
Tripathi did express openness to acting in South Indian films someday, though he stressed the importance of being comfortable with the language. “Bhasha Hindi honi chahiye (The language should be Hindi),” he said, revealing that linguistic ease is crucial for him to stay true to his performance.
Tripathi about his working experience in Telugu industry
Tripathi recalled a previous experience where he went to act in a Telugu movie but felt very uncomfortable while trying to deliver even simple lines in the language. He admitted that he would take up roles where the character speaks Hindi, as otherwise it would affect his performance, since he does not know the language.
On the work front, Pankaj Tripathi is busy with the promotions of his next film Metro... In Dino, scheduled to hit theatres on July 4.
At the same time, Kamal Haasan’s Thug Life, directed by Mani Ratnam, has been making headlines ever since it was announced. The movie is set to release on June 5. It also features a talented cast including Silambarasan, Trisha Krishnan, Abhirami, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Ashok Selvan, Joju George, Nassar, Ali Fazal, Rohit Saraf, and Baburaj. A.R. Rahman is the music director for the film. Meanwhile, 'Thug Life' first half reviews are coming in positive after the USA premiere shows.
