Pakistani film 'Bin Roye' will not release in Maharashtra due to MNS threat

Shah Rukh Khan's 'Raees' heroine Mahira Khan may not have an Eid release in Maharashtra after all. Reason being that MNS (Maharashtra Navnirman Sena) has reportedly threatened demonstrations against the movie's release in Maharashtra.

Shah Rukh Khan's 'Raees' heroine, Mahira Khan, may not have an Eid release in Maharashtra after all. Reason being that MNS (Maharashtra Navnirman Sena) has reportedly threatened demonstrations against the movie's release in Maharashtra.

According to sources, MNS has stated that in lieu of Pakistan's stance vis-a-vis India -- from going easy on 26/11 mastermind Lakhvi to encouraging terrorist attacks in J&K -- the party doesn't share the idea of keeping entertainment separate from cross-border politics.

"Moreover, it would be too risky to have any screenings of Bin Roye in Maharashtra if MNS' protests turn violent and cause damage to property," says an industry source adding, "It's better to not screen the film than risk damage go the cinemas."
