Pakistani actor Sajal Aly, last seen in Sridevi’s Mom, wants to work in India again

Pakistani actress Sajal Aly was last seen on the Indian big screen in Sridevi's Mom, where she played the lead actor's step daughter. After political relations between India and Pakistan soured, Pakistani actors and musicians were barred from working in the country. But Sajal says there is still hope within her that some day the problem between the countries will be sorted out and artists will be able to collaborate once again. Sajal said in a recent interaction that politics shouldnt interfere between art and artists.






While the actress is not part of the Hindi film industry, she recently collaborated with director Shekhar Kapur and Shabana Azmi in the international film What’s Love Got To Do With It? The movie put focus on cross-cultural conflicts via the concept of arranged marriage in the age of Tinder. Talking about the opportunity of working in the film, Sajal told a leading daily that it was a dream come true working with Kapur and Azmi.




Talking more about Sridevi, Sajal added that she was very close to the 'English Vinglish' star and it is unfortunate that she left the world so soon. Sajal also revealed that she didn’t just have a working relationship with her, Sridevi took care of Sajal and also met her mother when she came from Pakistan. And Sridevi would guide Sajal like a mother. The young actress shares a very close bond with Sridevi’s elder daughter Janhvi Kapoor, too.
