Pakistani actor Ayub Khosa surprised by flatulence request for Welcome 2 Karachi

If behind-the-scenes incidents during the shooting of the comedy Welcome 2 Karachi are any indication, the movie, according to the makers, is all set to be one hell of a cracker fest. The crew regaled us while recounting some funny moments from the schedule in UK, where they had recreated a Taliban camp.
A unit member recalls the scene that required Pakistani actor Ayub Khosa, who plays a Taliban chief in the film, to fart loudly in his sleep, when Jackky Bhagnani and Arshad Warsi are to enter his tent in their attempt to escape the camp.While the sound was to be added later in the post-production stage, Arshad insisted on hearing it there so he and Jackky could get their timing right.

When Ayub heard the suggestion, he was naturally furious. His pride hurt, he declared in all seriousness, “Pathans don’t fart in public. They walk away and do it in private.” While the entire unit was stunned by this explanation, no one dared laugh seeing the actor’s stern face. Arshad and Jackky ducked behind director Ashish R Mohan as they tried controlling their laughter.
It was only after Ashish reasoned with Ayub that since his character was asleep and unaware of the two men in his room, it was still a private fart, did the Pathan reluctantly agree and shoot the scene accordingly. It’s another thing that after the take, the whole unit wished the scene wouldn’t have happened so realistically.
