Orry, the renowned social media content creator and Bollywood’s favorite friend, opened up about not knowing or recognizing Falguni Pathak, the queen of garba. Moreover, the 30-year-old ultimately revealed that he mistook the singer for a fashion designer, addressing the trail of hate.

Orry addresses Falguni Pathak-Falguni Peacock controversy

In the new vlog with Ira Khan, Orry (aka Orhan Awatramani) spoke about how he collaborated for an event, where ‘Falguni’ was supposed to sing. After reaching at venue, he realised the person on the stage did not appear to be the person in his mind. When he inquired about the person, Orry claimed that he connected the dots of the name to Falguni Peacock, the fashion designer based in Mumbai, and not the popular singer. “I was having so much fun with Funcho, and Sha Falguni Peacock is on stage singing. And I was like, that’s not Falguni Peacock,” he said in the clip, before adding that someone cleared his doubts that stunned him.

When Khan responded, “Even I knew that Orry,’ he cleared the air by stating that he merely mistook one famous Falguni for another. “It’s not that deep,” he added. Recalling an incident with Farah Khan, the content creator mentioned that her cook, Dilip, was not aware of him. Stating that there was no need to be offended or throw tantrums, he said, “If Dilip doesn’t know who I am, it means I did not do a good job enough of being famous for him to know who I am.”

About the controversy

The controversy roots from the clip, where he was having a conversation with actor Vishal Jethwa at the concert. After Jethwa addresses his confusion with ‘the queen of garba,’ Orry instantly said, “How would I know that? I thought Lata Mangeshwari was the queen of garba.” The hate train started from the moment, and many other content creators called out the behaviour as well.
