Director Om Raut's upcoming film Adipurush, which is based on the mythological epic Ramayana, is all set to hit the theatres today. Before its release, Kriti Sanon along with her family members and the team of Adipurush watched the film at a cinema hall in Mumbai.

Kriti was accompanied by her parents Rahul Sanon and Geeta Sanon, her younger sister Nupur Sanon, and her boyfriend Stebin Ben for the screening. Om Raut along with T-Series head Bhushan Kumar, Devdatta Nage, music composer Ajay Ashok Gogavale, lyricist Manoj Muntashir among others were also seen at the venue.

Meanwhile, Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah on Thursday announced to ban Hindi films from screening in Nepal's capital until a portion of dialogue 'Janaki is a daughter of India' is removed from Adipurush. He gave a three-day deadline to make the changes.

However, Nepal's Film Censor Board has said that it has given permission to release the film only after cutting the portion of dialogue that describes Sita as daughter of India. The film is all set to be screened in Nepal from Friday.

According to trade experts, Adipurush is eyeing a bumper opening at the box office with a business close to Rs 80-85 crore. The movie stars Prabhas as Lord Rama, Kriti as Sita, Sunny Singh as Lakshman, Devdatta Nage as Lord Hanuman and Saif Ali Khan as Ravana.
