Om Puri’s bought a new house in Rajasthan
Om Puri, who had once said that he would leave Mumbai and live a life of anonymity in a small town, has finally chosen a place in Rajasthan to be his home. He’s bought a house in Jhalawar, where he plans to spend his life post retirement, with his first wife Seema Kapoor.
Seema, a documentary filmmaker, hails from Jhalawar. Puri entered his new house after a grih pravesh ceremony on Thursday morning.

After conducting a recee of several houses, the actor selected the two-storeyed house, set on 1,000 square feet of land.
Confirming the news, Puri said, “I am looking forward to moving into the new house with Seema. It’s been some time since I’ve been looking for a place where I can spend my life post retirement with Seema. The three-bedroom house is an ideal place to spend my life. It’s quite calm and serene.”
“Since I am not a religious person, I didn’t have any puja. For the grih pravesh, I just asked my friend’s little daughters to enter the house. Kids are the most innocent,” said Puri.
He has named his house Shabnam after Seema’s mother’s name. “She was a great lady and poet. It’s my love and respect for her that I have named my home after her. Secondly, it means dew drops in Hindi and I love this name,” the actor said.
