Legal controversy around 'O'Romeo'
While Shahid Kapoor is busy with his movie, a big legal issue has come up around ‘O’ Romeo’. The daughter of the late Hussain Ustara, named Sanober Shaikh, has gone to court. She wants the movie to be stopped from being released. She has filed a case against producer Sajid Nadiadwala, director Vishal Bhardwaj, and author Hussain Zaidi. Reportedly, Sanober says the movie shows things linked to her father’s life without her family’s permission. What Sanober is asking from the court?
Sanober has asked the court to make sure the makers cannot release the movie on February 13, 2026, or on any other date. She wants a permanent injunction, which means she wants a full stop on the release in cinemas, on TV, or on OTT platforms. Sanober also wants a temporary injunction, so the film stays unreleased until the case is fully decided. Why did the dispute start?
The fight began right after the teaser of ‘O’ Romeo’ came out. When Sanober watched the teaser and felt that the movie was inspired by the life of her father Hussain Ustara. She said that nobody from the film team took permission from the family. After that, her lawyer sent a legal notice to Sajid Nadiadwala and Vishal Bhardwaj. The notice asked for clarity and also asked the makers to stop moving ahead with the film until things were sorted out.Makers say the claims are not true
On the other side the film’s makers have completely denied everything that Sanober has claimed. They said that ‘O’ Romeo’ is not based on Hussain Ustara at all. They believe the movie has nothing to do with his life story.Cast and release date
